Casey’s General Stores, Inc. and its wholly owned subsidiaries, operate convenience stores under the name Casey’s General Store in 11 Midwestern states, primarily Iowa, Missouri, and Illinois. The stores carry a range of food (including freshly prepared foods such as pizza, donuts, and sandwiches), beverages, tobacco products, health and beauty aids, automotive products, and other nonfood items. In addition, all Casey’s stores offer gasoline for sale on a self-service basis. Approximately 73% of its total revenue, during fiscal 2012, was derived from the retail sale of gasoline. On April 30, 2012, there were a total of 1,699 stores in operation. There were 30 stores newly constructed, 35 acquired stores opened, and three stores were closed, during the fiscal year ended April 30, 2012 (fiscal 2012).
